{"id":99,"date":"2011-08-10T19:23:00","date_gmt":"2011-08-10T19:23:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/aliciapaterson.com\/wordpress\/?p=99"},"modified":"2023-04-19T19:24:14","modified_gmt":"2023-04-19T19:24:14","slug":"twinstar-paint-job-finished-look","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/geekgirl.io\/wordpress\/personal\/twinstar-paint-job-finished-look\/","title":{"rendered":"Twinstar Paint Job &#8211; Finished Look"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I&#8217;ve finished all painting on the aircraft now &#8211; looks pretty good!&nbsp; Up close the surface looks very speckled an foamy but from 100ft or more it could pass for the real thing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignright size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/aliciapaterson.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/IMG_0096-1024x764-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-100\" width=\"509\" height=\"380\" title=\"VH-DSJ FPV\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Insignia placement is not perfect but not bad.&nbsp; There is no Australian Customs aircraft registered DSJ (this is actually&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.aeroclub.com.au\/queryac.php?id=669&amp;expand=DSJ\">currently assigned<\/a>&nbsp;to a UK WWII Observation aircraft built in 1947). I chose it as it was also the registration for a Cessna 182L which dissapeared in 1978 in one of Australia&#8217;s most interesting aviation incidents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I have added landing gear; they are not very scale-like but the nosewheel is steerable and they all have pretty good in-built shock-absorbers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I have not installed engines or electronics yet, hence have not glued the fuselage together which is why there is a great big black hairband holding it together.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;ve finished all painting on the aircraft now &#8211; looks pretty good!&nbsp; Up close the surface looks very speckled an foamy but from 100ft or more it could pass for the real thing.
